AeroStar Avion Institute is committed to enhancing, promoting, and supporting the academic awareness of aviation and aeronautical career path opportunities for all students, particularly female, minority, underprivileged, and at-risk youth. In order to achieve this mission, AeroStar provides professional leadership training and management consulting through education centers to students and professionals.
Affinity Community Services is a social justice organization whose mission is to work with and on behalf of Black LGBTQ communities, queer youth, and allies to identify emergent needs, create brave spaces, develop leaders, and bridge communities through collective analysis and action for social justice, freedom, and human rights. Affinity envisions a society where being your authentic self, with all of your identities, is celebrated.
Featherfist gives “power and purpose” to those in the homeless community by assisting them in their advancement toward self-sufficiency. With the recognition that shelter is not enough, Featherfist provides support that includes a full range of social service networks to meet the myriad demands of retraining, rehabilitating, and re-entry into the mainstream.
Future Ties provides mentoring, tutoring, and enrichment programs to low-income and at-risk youth. It is dedicated to providing the information, support, and connections that families need to assist their children on the road to success. Future Ties also helps parents build technological and other life skills, escape domestic violence, and mentor young people in their community.
The mission of the Provident Foundation is to preserve the living legacy of Provident Hospital and the contributions of Dr. Daniel Hale Williams by promoting education for and providing scholarship opportunities to urban youth pursuing careers as doctors, nurses, and health care professionals.
The mission of Woodlawn East Community and Neighbors (WECAN) is to address the changing needs and issues of Woodlawn and the surrounding communities by enriching and enhancing the lives of the residents. WECAN is primarily dedicated to providing, maintaining, and advocating for quality affordable housing with attached support services in the Woodlawn community.
