UChicago Youth Internship Program

The University of Chicago Youth Internship Program is a paid summer employment opportunity for Chicago Public Schools students who live on the South Side. Launched in 2021, the UChicago Youth Internship Program (YIP) serves Chicago Public Schools (CPS) students over the course of two summers.

Civic Actor Studio

The Civic Actor Studio (CAS) at the University of Chicago is a four-day leadership retreat for established and emerging civic leaders, led in partnership with The Court Theatre, that connects disparate civic actors — non-profit leaders, educators, funders, media, and UChicago faculty and staff — to examine the various leadership roles they play, engage in civic dialogue, and “practice” the embodiment of civic leadership so that they have increased self-efficacy in their work.

Collegiate Scholars Program

The University of Chicago Collegiate Scholars Program was founded in 2003 as a three-year program that aims to prepare talented Chicago Public Schools students in grades 10-12 for admission and success at the nation’s top colleges and universities.

The University Community Service Center (UCSC) connects students to civic engagement opportunities, on and off campus, that complement the University of Chicago’s rigorous academic experience. Part of the Office of Civic Engagement, UCSC provides a range of resources that contribute to student civic learning and impact across the city of Chicago.
